WVIC Land Use and Recreation Guidelines
Except where specifically prohibited, WVIC lands are open to
the public without discrimination for recreational activities. Public access around dams and infrastructure is
limited to areas not marked with signs or restricted by fences. Violation of
defined limits constitutes trespassing and is subject to prosecution. Please do not litter, pack out what you pack
in.
APPROVED RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES

Hunting
o
Tree stands must be removed daily. Only portable style tree stands shall be
used, which do not damage trees. No
permanent structures or exclusive use. No cutting of shooting lanes or use of tree pegs, spikes or screws.
§Permanent tree stands or tree stands left
overnight will be confiscated by WVIC staff.
o
Waterfowl blinds shall be placed no more
than 7 days prior to the opening of waterfowl hunting season and shall be
removed no later than 7 days after the waterfowl hunting season closes. Waterfowl blinds must be labeled with the hunter’s
name, address and WDNR customer identification number at all times. Permanent blinds are prohibited.
§Blinds found in violation of these regulations will
be removed by WVIC staff.

Fishing and boating
o
Temporary mooring for day use of land or
beaches is allowed. Boats shall be
parked in a considerate manner away from swimming areas and high use navigation
channels.

kayaks
o
Unauthorized or abandoned boats will be
confiscated by WVIC staff.

Building structures, making improvements or
altering WVIC land or water.
