The 92 miles of the Wisconsin River from the Prairie du Sac Dam to the river's mouth is a wide, sandy stretch of free-flowing river that is well known for its scenic beauty and recreational value.  In 1989 the State of Wisconsin formed the Lower Wisconsin State Riverway Board (LWSRB) to manage this area.  The LWSRB has a website explaining the Lower Wisconsin River and its plans for managing the area.  Click on the link below to visit their site.
